Land Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Land/Community Manager to join an established team currently engaged in the construction of two new sub-stations in Argyll, which are critical infrastructure developments that will enhance the power distribution network in Scotland.  This project is critical to enhancing the electrical infrastructure for SSE and requires a professional who can effectively manage land-related issues and foster positive community relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Land Management:

    • Engage with landowners and tenants to negotiate access and easements.
    • Resolve any disputes or issues related to land access and usage.
    • Ensure all land agreements comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate with surveyors, legal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Community Relations:

    • Act as the primary point of contact for local communities and stakeholders.
    • Develop and implement communication strategies to keep the community informed about project developments.
    • Organise and attend community meetings, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly and transparently.
    • Foster positive relationships with local authorities, community groups, and other key stakeholders.
  • Project Coordination:

    • Work closely with the project management team to ensure land and community considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on land and community engagement activities.
    • Assist in the development of environmental and social impact assessments as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in land management and community relations, ideally within the infrastructure or utilities sectors.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A proactive approach with a commitment to fostering positive stakeholder relationships.
