Working hours can vary from 8:30 to 16:30 or 9:00 to 17:00pm

Purpose of the role
Accountable for delivering precise and timely HR & Payroll Administration services.
Be the first point of contact for all HR transactional related queries, maintaining a consistently high standard of customer service for both employees and managers.
Providing an effective and efficient output of work to meet the demands of the role and to assist in all aspects of work undertaken by the HR Department.
 
Day to day duties to include
 Payroll

Processing monthly payroll, collation, and input of all relevant information for the monthly payroll (including time sheets, expenses, new starters, leavers, benefits, contract changes, sickness absence payments, maternity and paternity pay etc.).
To administer the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay and Statutory Paternity Pay schemes, collation, inputting and processing of P11D’s and administration of Auto Enrolment and Stakeholder pension schemes.
To provide advice to staff and managers in relation to taxation and National Insurance, and any payroll related queries.
Reporting and Compliance: Ensuring all documentation is authorised and in place for any amendments to pay.
Reconciliation of monthly pay runs
Preparation of journal for posting of ledger each month
Producing data for accounts and managers as required
Calculate monthly Inland Revenue payments and ensure amounts are paid on time, along with any other payments e.g., BHSF.
Resolving payroll discrepancies and identification of issues to improve processes and reduce further discrepancies or errors.

 HR

Advise managers on processes to ensure that all processes are always followed.
Ensuring core HR processes are carried out in line with agreed timelines
Absence –ensure fit notes received, monitoring of company sick pay entitlements, informing employees/managers on sick pay entitlements.
Maternity, paternity leave etc.
Any other special leave i.e., jury service
Long service awards – monitoring and co-ordination of the scheme
Review and development of core processes and ‘how to guides.
Ensuring the HR and payroll database is updated and regularly maintained, inputting new starters, Leavers, Employee changes, holiday and sickness allowances monitored.
Monitoring of SPA expiry dates and arranging renewals with course providers.
Weekly processing of employee expenses and enter onto ERP system once checks are completed.
Management of reporting all company cars to HMRC, including adding new to tax shield and submitting relevant documentation.
Monitoring and managing holiday balances,
Business continuity reports quarterly.

Experience

2-3 Years experience working in payroll.
Proven ability to support payroll full end to end process
Ideally suited to someone who has managed a payroll for 250 employees plus.

Essential

Experience managing the end-to-end payroll process as this is a stand-alone role.
Strong experience with Excel
Knowledge of UK employment law with regards to payroll
High attention to detail and organised due to the number of processes/reports to complete.
Good communication skills
Confident and enthusiastic
