I am working with a well known media business based in Salford who are currently looking for an experienced and credible individual to join them to cover a 12 month maternity cover.

The opportunity is a mix of admin, reception, purchase ledger and finance and you will have the ability to multitask and handle of variety of tasks and responsibilities on a varying basis.

The role is full time (37.5 hours per week, 0930-6pm) and my client does offer flexibility around hybrid working. The role is for 12 months, please note there is no guarantee of a contract extension after the initial 12 months.

The current employee’s duties are as follows but depending on experience there may be more opportunities to get involved in the quarter end process or take on more of responsibilities as the company accountant for the right individual.

  • Input invoices on accounts software, making sure any invoices are input where possible on the day of receipt but where this is not possible within 5 days.
  • Uploading invoices to the G-Drive for Approval.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts to statements to ensure all invoices have been accounted for.
  • Chasing up colleagues to approve invoices for payment and putting together a proposed weekly payment run.
  • Checking and reconciling floats and chasing up any unspent cash to be returned.
  • Chasing up employees for missing spendesk receipts and helping to assign transactions on our virtual card system.
  • Download, assign and post all credit card transactions.
  • Ensure credit card transactions posted to the accounts software agrees with the balance on the credit card statements.
  • Manage petty cash which includes trips to the bank to collect cash, ensuring all transactions are posted accurately to the accounts software and reconciling the tin on the last working day of each month.
  • General office admin and reception duties
  • Utility company contracts and Fleet / building Insurance renewals.
