Job Title: Housing Team Manager

Location: Stafford, Barnsley, Bradford (working remotely, one/two days a month covering across the three locations)

Contract: 6-month contract, 25-30 hours per week

Salary: Up to £30,000 pro rata

About Our Client:

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Housing Team Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about providing high-quality housing management and tenancy sustainment services, ensuring properties are well maintained and compliant. This role requires occasional travel and is predominantly home-based with hotel accommodation provided as needed.

Job Purpose:

To be the first point of contact for staff, providing ongoing support, guidance, training, direction, and line management. You will ensure high standards of housing management and tenancy sustainment services are delivered, working to our policies and procedures, and maximizing occupancy.

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Support and Supervision:

  • Provide support and supervision to staff in line with company policy and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the achievement of performance targets, KPIs, and personal and team objectives.
  • Guide staff in dealing with anti-social behaviour issues, serving notices, and attending court hearings.

Tenancy Sustainment and Support:

  • Provide guidance on delivering tenancy sustainment and support services, including safeguarding and risk management.
  • Maintain accurate records and case recordings in line with company policies and local procedures.

Property Management:

  • Support staff in reducing arrears, voids, and improving property turnaround times.
  • Promote tenant involvement and encourage participation in surveys.

Development and Compliance:

  • Assist in the development and growth of housing services, including property leasing/purchase recommendations.
  • Support evidence collection for internal and external audits.
  • Develop, formulate, review, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Develop and maintain interagency relationships and partnerships.
  • Work with the team on financial issues, such as rent increases, repairs, and maintenance.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Professional qualification in Housing (CIH 4 or above)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience providing intensive housing management to vulnerable people
  • Experience managing and motivating a diverse team across a wide geographical area
  • Knowledge of Housing Law relevant to social housing, private landlords, and tenants
  • Knowledge of the 'Decent Homes Standards' and the 'Housing Health and Safety Rating System'
  • Experience dealing with housing management issues

Desirable:

  • Management Qualification (CMI Level 4 or above)
  • Computer literate and able to access and input data into collection systems
