Location: Corby, UK

Are you a hands-on engineer with a passion for new product introduction and project management. Do you have the skills to manage engineering aspects for a group of customers and ensure the smooth implementation of new parts? If so, we want you to join our Technical Ceramics business at Morgan Advanced Materials.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • New Product Introduction: Manage all NPI engineering aspects for assigned customers, ensuring smooth implementation of new parts.
  • Project Management: Utilize the NPI project management system and tools like CAD, Gauge R&R, and CMM to execute key projects.
  • Data Management: Learn and become proficient in our ERP systems to support product costing, product routings, and other functions.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze gross margins for assigned NPI parts and implement improvement plans.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with production teams to ensure trials are completed as planned and provide feedback to all stakeholders.
  • Customer Interaction: Lead meetings with customers and internal stakeholders, including visits to customer premises when required.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Use root cause analysis techniques to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, compile clear project reports, and follow the New Business Development Pipeline process.
  • Technical Support: Provide support for product costing across Corby and Derby sites for NPI parts.
  • Leadership: Actively support a motivated and engaged climate through personal leadership and regular performance reviews.
  • EHS Compliance: Champion a strong EHS culture on-site, ensure all staff are trained, and develop a culture of near-miss reporting.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Project, Design, or Manufacturing Engineering with hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in product introduction or development.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Minitab (CAD experience desirable).
  • Project management experience, and ability to deliver high-quality results with attention to detail. 

Desirable Experience:

  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge
  • Understanding of injection moulding processes
