Role and Responsibilities:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pupils' educational and personal development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting teachers in delivering tailored educational programs.
- Providing one-on-one support to pupils, helping them with academic tasks and social interactions.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies and supporting pupils' emotional well-being.
- Assisting with personal care tasks when necessary.
- Encouraging and facilitating communication and social skills development.
- Monitoring and recording pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Creating a safe and engaging learning environment.
Key Requirements:
- Passion for working with children and young people with SEND, particularly those with ASD.
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of our pupils.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous but not essential.
