Do you have experience of business development within the CDMO market?

Would you like to work for an innovative gene synthesis company?

My client is an innovative gene synthesis company focussed on designing and manufacturing application specific synthetic DNA or mRNA.

Due to currently scaling their commercial activities, amongst other departments, they are looking for an experienced business development manager/director to drive business growth and expand their client base within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

The role would suit an experienced business development manager with ample experience either working with or in a CDMO environment, who is keen to identify new business opportunities and develop symbiotic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities of the Associate Director Business Development:

  • Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge and market trends.
  • Stay up to date and analyse competitor activities, adapting business development strategies in response to drive continual improvement.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with numerous key decision makers to maximise business opportunities.
  • Manage client expectations and outline technical milestones whilst leading commercial contract negotiations.
  • Prepare solution proposals, calculations and presentations.
  • Attend conferences and events with the aim of supporting existing clients and developing new business

To be considered for the Associate Director Business Development you will need the following skills and experience:

  • An MSc/PhD in a relevant field such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics/Genetics or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive experience in Business Development or similar role within the CDMO environment.
  • Proven track record in high-level business development with extensive experience building and converting a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to develop and maintain a professional network.
  • Prior experience of project management, able to set and manage project timelines and navigate potential risks involved.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience and capability to confidently take the lead when presenting to senior decision makers.
  • Excellent communication skills and a personable nature to support relationship building and working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to attend industry event/conferences and meet with clients.
