We have a fantastic opportunity for a Building Works Team Leader to join the Stannah Homelifts team.

The Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing operations across the UK. We will recruit either one builder based in the North or one in the South, depending on the successful candidate's location.

Are you a natural leader with a strong background in construction, particularly within domestic dwellings? Do you have experience in loft conversions and carpentry/joinery?

This newly created role aims to lead the Homelift building works team, ensuring efficient service delivery. You will oversee pre-build surveys and preparatory building works to support the effective supply and installation of Homelifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Team Leader to the building works team. Provide guidance and training to the team as necessary and manage within our people policies and procedures.
  • Carry out preparatory building works in line with current building regulations.
  • Carry out pre-build surveys identifying any shortfalls in the scope provided by the sales team.
  • Work closely with the Technical Sales Team Leader to ensure compliance with building control.
  • Provide technical support to the builders and assist with queries from the building control inspectors.
  • Attend training courses to maintain knowledge required to support the builders.
  • Training and development of the building works team.
  • Work closely with UK Operations manager to role out new initiatives and improvements.
  • Carry out joint sales/technical survey visits as and when required.
  • Deliver customer service consistent with our brand values and ethics, to deliver on promises and demonstrate that we care.
  • Support for new starters and those who are progressing within their roles, focusing on best practice, and coaching team members to help encourage strong performance.
  • Fully engage in continuous improvement activities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, instilling a ‘right first time’ mentality. Develop a strong understanding of our products and processes to identify and develop improved ways of working for the customer, our business and colleagues.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of current building regulations and structural calculation requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of the building control application process.
  • Experience of leading a team of builders.
  • Ideally additional skills in one or more of the following: plastering, brick laying, electrics, plumbing, carpet fitting.
