Sellick Partnership has been assigned on an exclusive basis to recruit a Commercial Finance Manager for a profitable and fast moving entrepreneurial business in Manchester. The business has grown substantially year on year and will continue to do so in line with their strategic plan.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic qualified candidate ACA or ACCA or CIMA with exposure in a similar commercial / operational role. The role requires an ambitious and proactive individual who enjoys applying a strong commercial and operational focus, with the ability to build robust and productive relationships, providing support and challenge across all functions and liaising with senior management.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance and working closely with key stakeholders in the operation and commercial teams, you will help drive company performance and build their long-term growth strategy through detailed analysis, insights and recommendations.

The role will be supported by one full-time analyst. Maximising the performance, output, and development of the analyst will be key to success in the role. There will be a broad range of opportunities including involvement in key projects and new business initiatives.

We are looking for a Commercial Manager who possesses a proactive and confident approach with the potential to grow into a more senior managerial role as the business grows. The ideal candidate will relish accountability and be resilient in pushing for positive outcomes for the business.

You will be tasked with the below responsibilities:-

  • Act as a Business Partner to the Head of Operations and Operational teams
  • Conduct detailed analysis and produce insights to support the growth of the business through commercially and operationally sound decision-making
  • Review operational performance to highlight risks and opportunities to the business
  • Measure ADI performance & drive change and improvement initiatives
  • Lead commercial projects, including the development and build of a cost to serve model
  • Complete ad hoc requests and analysis to support business decisions
  • Identify skills gaps and process issues, proposing improvements as needed to promote best practice and increase productivity.
  • Identify opportunities to increase performance and revenue by keeping up to date with market trends

To get going quickly in this role, you will need to have experience as a qualified accountant, within a commercial finance function. We will look for you to show your analytical and commercial skills and how you've provided key insights that delivered results.

The successful candidate will ideally be a ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified professional having gained experience in a similar commercial finance, business partnering or FP&A role. You will have a positive, enthusiastic and hands-on approach backed with drive and ambition. You will need to be confident working with a diverse range of people and cultures and have excellent communication skills.

It is desirable that you have experience in Quickbooks, but as a minimum experience with an equivalent software coupled with being proficient in Microsoft office suite (in particular excel)
