This is an exciting opportunity for an MEP Design Manager to work in main contracting background across a variety of hotel developments valuing from £5m up to £35m. This client is a family run business with an entrepreneurial vision giving you a huge amount of opportunity for growth and progression. The majority of their work is converting existing buildings into hotels, from retail and office spaces.

About the role of MEP Design Manager:

• Coordinating design activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the desired quality.
• Managing the design team and responsible for delivering projects in accordance with client's requirements.
• Understanding and managing changes to scope, budget, and programme.
• Identifying project risks and opportunities and escalating any matters to the Design Manager and site team at the earliest opportunity.
• Manage the on-site delivery of projects working closely with the Project Manager and Site Managers and visiting live sites regularly.
• Lead Design Team Meetings, taking minutes and reporting back to the Design Manager.

Requirements for the MEP Design Manager role:

• Degree or equivalent qualification with experience working on similar projects.
• Experience of working within a main contractor, developer, or consultancy.
• A hard working and organised individual, who is a team player, reliable and shows initiative.
• Technically minded, possesses good attention to detail and is happy visiting sites and managing the delivery of projects.
• Strong mechanical engineering background.
