​They provide comprehensive facilities management, including cleaning and hygiene services, maintenance and building services, catering, security, landscaping, and a variety of other tailored services for customers across the Public and Private Sectors.

Job Description

As a Fabric Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance operations on-site.

Under the coordination of the Technical Services Team Leader, you will receive guidance and direction for your daily duties.

Your primary focus will be to undertake and maintain all the centre’s facilities to a high standard, ensuring a well-maintained and efficient environment for all users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out and assisting with planned maintenance and reactive maintenance
  • Assist with the daily basic plant and equipment servicing
  • Remedial works in painting and decorating; plumbing; joinery and carpentry items to a high standard
  • Assist Building services engineers in fulfilling their duties
  • Carry out minor decoration works, in order to maintain the buildings appearance
  • Perform minor repairs to walls, roofs, gulley’s, partition walls and restroom facilities
  • Repair and maintain hot and cold water services including replacement of sanitary ware and clearing of drains
  • Ensure all contractors are working within Westfield guidelines when working in the centre

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Proven ability and experience in a similar role
  • The ability to work at heights and have or willing to take IPAF/MEWPs certificate
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A building Trade NVQ / City & Guilds qualification such as brickwork, joinery or roofing
  • Proven experience of working in a customer services environment
  • Possess a working knowledge of relevant building and health and safety Legislation
  • This role requires a flexible working pattern – shift work, weekends, bank holidays and overtime when required and to be available to travel at short notice
