About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join our team on a supply basis, working with nursery-aged children in various primary schools across Hull. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and is looking for flexible working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that support the development of nursery-aged children.
  • Provide individual and group support to children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children feel secure and confident to explore and learn.
  • Support the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Monitor and record children's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and materials.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean, tidy, and inviting classroom environment.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support children in developing their personal, social, and communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Early Years Education (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with nursery-aged children, preferably within a school setting.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and supportive approach to working with young children.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different school settings and with varying schedules.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
