Group Financial Controller | Cheltenham, Aylesbury or Milton Keynes / Hybrid | Contract for 6 months | up to £80,000

Role

My client is looking for an interim Group Financial Controller. With a proactive and collaborative approach, the Group Financial Controller will provide overall Controllership leadership and accountability for the Finance Function to ensure compliance with internal and external laws, guidance, and regulations. This role can be based at either our Cheltenham, Aylesbury, or Milton Keynes Office, with hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the UK’s technical accounting and tax expert, accurately prepare and submit financial reports in compliance with relevant standards and tax laws
  • Ensure all legal reporting is delivered by the team, including but not limited to annual returns, PSC registers, Gender pay gap reporting, payment practice reporting, ONS returns and filing obligations in our overseas jurisdictions
  • Proactively lead all interfaces with our financial auditors, tax compliance team, HMRC and banks
  • Ensure a faultless level of financial Governance across the business, including the drafting and monitoring of policies
  • Drive efficiency initiatives to ensure compliance is achieved in a commercially appropriate manner
  • Lead Business Support Framework implementation in the UK and ensure monitoring activities are appropriately undertaken and reported to Group
  • Act as primary contact for all global compliance rollouts, including but not limited to Transfer Pricing, Pillar 2, updates to ISAs etc.
  • Manage the UK’s treasury activities to generate maximum efficiency
  • Provide guidance and training as required to ensure 100% compliance with appropriate FRS and regulations in our internal management accounts
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to Group
  • Work closely with the CFO, FD and Cluster FCs on UK M&A activities
  • Ensure the ongoing accuracy of consolidation entries, ensuring appropriate impairment reviews are undertaken
  • Support the successful Integration of acquired businesses, establishing compliant approaches and folding external reporting obligations into the team
  • Oversee the UK Transactions Team, including streamlining and consolidating processes

Personal Profile

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA etc.) or Qualified by experience.
  • Experience of working with a Corporate Head Office
  • Strong people management experience
  • Senior Financial Management Experience
  • The ability to plan strategically and balance commerciality
  • Relevant experience of managing Shareholders expectations
  • Relevant experience and excellent working knowledge of ERP Systems
  • The ability to deliver to tight timescales and deadlines consistently
  • Excellent day to day planning and organisational skills
  • Dynamism, aptitude for problem solving and teamwork, practicality, reliability, flexibility, and results oriented
  • Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal relations at all levels
  • The ability to engage and influence colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives
