Software Engineer - Robotics / Aerospace / Automation - £36,000 - £46,000 - Dorchester or Bristol - Hybrid

We are looking for multi-skilled Software Engineer to join our Client's growing team of industrial automation specialists, working with a wide array of technologies and tools to solve engineering problems in the field of robotics and industrial automation. Their HQ is set in the heart of beautiful Dorset! They have many years of experience delivering state-of-the-art solutions to household name companies, with a world-leading reputation for solving difficult industrial problems, specialising in robotics and the aerospace sector.

You will need to be able to pick up new skills quickly with a 'knack' for making things work. Ideally, you will have industrial software experience in an automation setting but this is not essential. Products are varied in scope and field, from simple machines processing a dedicated task, to complex customisable cells with many robots, production steps and integrated technologies ranging from cameras, lasers, waterjet cutters and even chainsaws.

This is a role where no two days, or projects, are the same. The successful applicant will have a passion for robotics and automation and be a natural problem solver. You will need to work on your own initiative to learn new technologies, and have an eye for detail and design.

• Strong educational background in mathematics/physics/engineering - A-Level or above
• Ability to communicate at a technical level in both written and verbal English
• Mathematically minded
• Willingness, interest and ability to rapidly learn new technology
• Proactive problem solver
• Able to plan workload, and complete tasks autonomously
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Hold a full UK driving license
• Willing and able to travel to customer sites.
• Ability to obtain vetted security clearance/DBS checks

• Backend software experience ideally in C# .NET, will accept other programming languages such as JAVA, Python etc
