We Build Recruitment are on the lookout for a Setting Out Engineer and an Assistant Setting Out Engineer based in or around Northampton to join a quickly expanding groundworks contractor.

Due to a number of recent tender wins in the business, there is a number of new projects in the pipeline. To help these run as smoothly as possible and all future projects, they are looking for a Setting Out Engineer and an Assistant to be able to help kick projects off.

The projects you’ll be working on, will all be within roughly 1 hour of Northampton, including within the town itself. Namely in places such as Bedford and Market Harborough with the furthest likely being Peterborough.

The salary on offer for the Setting Out Engineer role is up to £65,000 and for the Assistant it's in the region of £45,000. Both come with a package that naturally due to the nature of the role with the travelling required, will cover that.

Job Role for the Setting Out Engineer:

• Setting out, levelling and surveying a construction site
• Working with site plans, drawings and building information models
• Mapping structural boundaries on the ground using the appropriate equipment
• Liaising with designers and engineers to ensure plans and drawings are accurate
• Overseeing quality control
• Ensure health and safety within your remit
• Maintain a site diary
• Help to resolve any technical problems that may occur on site

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Setting Out/ Site Engineer
• Familiarity with the Civils around Housebuilding, Roads, Sewage/Drainage, Utilities etc
• Qualifications in Civil Engineering is preferable but not required
• Experience and understanding of AutoCAD is necessary
• Leica instruments will be used on site so it’s preferential you have experience with them, but specific training can be given if you’ve used other instruments
