Rullion are looking to recruit for the following Role:

  • Digitial Software Solutions Engineer
  • ASAP Start
  • 6 months initial contract
  • Location : Worcester
  • Inside IR35
  • Rate : £24+ Per hour

A Snapshot of Your Day:

The Digital Solutions Engineer will be responsible for the introduction and technical support of digital tools used by our additive manufacturing facility in Worcester to develop and manufacture products. This will require close collaboration and integration with our global Digitalisation team and the New Product Introduction team. For each digital tool the Digital Solutions Engineer will capture the status-quo of current processes, create new instructions & processes for use by the NPI team. To ensure an end to end digital thread approach for our production site, the candidate (role) will need to interact and align closely with other departments, such as IT, Operations, Quality and Order Management. As the key local contact for the AM tool landscape and processes, they will be required to develop a strong understanding of the relevant processes, and be willing to support by engaging in engineering activities when required.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Actively support the design, development, debugging, testing, deployment, and daily operations of software tools for the global AM Digitalisation team to enable digital thread capabilities.
  • Assist with analyses to evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Assist implementation of shop floor digital solutions, data management strategies, and enable feedback loop of data to support engineering design and qualification.
  • Define local processes and instructions for the use of engineering software such as, but not limited to, simulation and AM build monitoring.
  • Where resource and priority requires it, use competencies in tools such as simulation in order to support MSL delivery requirements
  • Support Continuous Improvement in relationship to the use of digital tools.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Study in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics
  • Experience of engineering and data historians within a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Competent in CAD (NX or similar) preferable but not essential
  • Competent in data sensor acquisition, interpretation, and analysis within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing data acquisition in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in continuous integration/delivery, agile management tools (Jira).
  • Competent in MS Office.
  • Comfortable discussing, explaining, and debating complex technical problems within the team, and occasionally working directly with customers.
  • Strong communication skills and able to work with a geographically distributed development and support team.
  • Background in working with Manufacturing/Engineering background
  • Happy to work with international stakeholders - advantage if have worked with international teams before.
