Automation Engineer

Location: South Wales – Hybrid – first month required on site 2/3 days a week and monthly thereafter.

Salary: £45k plus benefits and bonus

Are you an Automation Engineer with experience of testing web, Windows, and Embedded Software, looking to take on a new challenge.

Do you thrive on working with both new and existing products, building Automation frameworks from the ground up both within UI and API testing? If so, this could be the role for you.

My client is a leading manufacturing company based in south Wales, specialising in cutting edge energy management solutions. Their innovative products help optimise and monitor energy usage, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.

As they continue to grow, they are looking to add a talented Automation Test Engineer to join the team.

 The Role

As an Automation Engineer, you will report into the Test Lead and be a crucial part of the testing team, your primary responsibilities will be to design, program, and implement robust automation frameworks for UI and API Testing. This includes:

Building UI automation frameworks from scratch using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright

Creating API Testing frameworks from scratch employing tools like Postman, SoapUI, Nunit, Xunit

Collaborating on CI/CD pipelines: working alongside the Test Lead to integrate automation into continuous integration and deployment processes.

Database management – Set up and tear down test conditions using SQL, Mongo and conduct stress and scalability testing ensuring products meet standards.

Write and review test scripts, whilst setting up test environments and conditions for comprehensive testing, Identify and resolve bug fixes before product deployment.

  • Database Querying – SQL, Mongo
