Estimator (Lighting Protection & Earthing)

Location: Finchley, London

Package: £35,000 - 40,000 plus benefits

Our client, a leading lighting protection and earthing business, is hiring for an estimator to join their team in Finchley, London.

Responsibilities:

Review the queries and liaise with clients over discrepancies.

• Review of contractual conditions to ensure that they do not conflict with ours.
• Create project specifications and material component schedules.
• Create Design Risk Assessments and Technical Submittals.
• Arrange pre-start activities (e.g. site meetings, surveys, test visits) as necessary.
• Organise quotations from sub-contractors or special requirement materials.
• Correspondence with clients
• Liaison with the contracts department over design issues
• Liaison and agreements with clients for additional works on on-going projects.
• Quotation follow-ups and analysis.

Requirements:

• A proven and impressive construction or construction related estimating track record.
• Experience in a client facing environment. Experience of estimating for installation works.
• The determination to quickly gain expert knowledge and experience of lightning protection and services is a must.
• Proven listening, negotiating and influencing skills.
• Numerate and literate with excellent communication skills. Able to deliver clear and concise ideas to internal and external persons and produce top quality written information.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel programs to a high or intermediate standard.
• Autocad knowledge to an intermediate standard would be preferred.
• Analytical, with the ability to interpret information, news, data and research quickly – and distil the most important/relevant information to build intelligent operational strategies
• Proactive and highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills, meticulous attention to detail and a proven ability to multi-task.
• Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under high pressure.
• Ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision and thrive both on own initiative and as part of a team
