Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Balderton.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Here at Balderton we support one gentleman in a 2-bedroom bungalow. This Bungalow requires staff to be trained in Positive behaviour support (Training will be provided)
Drivers would be preferable as person we support has his own personal vehicle.
The person we support in Balderton lives in a bungalow that requires 24-hour care plus a sleep in. The individual we support chose’s a range of activities they enjoy being involved in. Some typical examples are,
- Local days out to popular parks
- Film days
- Baking
- Going to local shops
- Seeing his family
- Music
There is also a large garden which is made use of.
What we're looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- Full-time: 37.5 hrs
- Part-time: flexible hours based on availability
- We can accommodate shifts for those looking for weekend work. Just let us know what you are looking for.
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
- Days: Between 07:00-22:00 [AND/OR]
- Waking Nights: 22:00-07:00
*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
