Job Description

To lead and optimise the stock administration team and support functions. Ensure efficient processes, clear communication, and timely resolution of issues. Direct line management and development of the Stock & Admin team, including all aspects of training, performance and attendance.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09.00-17.00 

Salary: £31,000 per annum 

Key Duties of a Goods In Team Leader:

  • Conduct regular performance development plans (PDPs) with team members, providing guidance and feedback for ongoing development.
  • Manage and maintain the department rota, ensuring adequate coverage for annual leave and peak periods, to include management of absence both planned and unplanned.
  • In collaboration with HR and the depot People Plan, lead initiatives to improve processes and personal performance, fostering a culture of innovation and growth
  • Prepare and deliver daily operational reports and conduct monthly one-to-one meetings with team members to ensure open communication and alignment with goals.
  • Develop, document, and implement standardised stock administration processes, providing comprehensive training to team members for optimal understanding and execution.
  • Establish strong working relationships with warehouse management to identify and resolve operational challenges, driving continuous improvement in all stock administration functions.
  • Manage inbound bookings, safeguarding site storage capacity. Ensure seamless handover of responsibilities during holiday periods, including clear communication of relevant report numbers.
  • Management of all pallet inventory, ensuring sufficient availability and adherence to site par levels, reporting and invoicing as required.
  • Compile and provide accurate data for KPI reporting, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain professional and productive relationships with clients and hauliers, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure that any trailers coming back to site are recorded accurately and that returns are prioritised in being put back onto bay, or escalation to Stock & Admin Manager if not processed within 24hrs.
  • Completion of any ad-hoc tasks as required by the site management team.
  • Other duties as reasonably required.
  • Deputise for the Stock & Admin Manager in their absence.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, or equivalent software.
  • Understanding of excellent customer service principles and practices, whilst having the dedication to provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, contribute to a team environment, and support colleagues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and clear articulation of ideas.
  • Aptitude for analysing data, identifying trends, and drawing conclusions to inform decision-making.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Skill in organising and prioritising workload to meet deadlines and deliver results.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
