Contract Manager

We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join our team in the Shotton Paper Mill Project.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, evaluation, drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts,
  • Advise and support the project director, managers, and engineers on implementing contracts and contracting strategies,
  • Support teams in negotiation with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to achieve the optimum strategy for the company; attend contract negotiation meetings with customers, subcontractors, vendors, etc. along with the business line owner to provide consultative support when required,
  • As one of the critical key responsible for new business contract negotiations, advise and support tender teams in business development, ensure that all risks and liabilities are specifically defined and kept at a minimum prior to signing the contract,
  • To prepare an official letter for notifications received from the Client and send the notifications to the Client (suspension, termination, penalty, notice of delay, violation notice, dispute, force majeure, contract amendment, etc.),
  • To evaluate and finalise notifications from subcontractors and suppliers (subcontractor/PO changes, suspension, termination, penalty, violation notification, dispute, force majeure, contract change, etc.),
  • In coordination with legal teams, manage claims and disputes with parties and lead the contractual strategy of the company,
  • Prepare, track, and manage contractual risks and opportunities for construction projects and create a sustainable system for management reporting,
  • Manage relationships with contractors, ensuring that they are meeting their contractual obligations and maintaining good communication. 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in contract management in the construction sector,
  • Strong legal contract knowledge and application (specifically NEC4 contracts),
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, legal, economics, or administrative sciences,
  • Compatible with a large, multi-location, corporate environment in a matrix organisation.
