We are recruiting on behalf of our north Herefordshire client who are offering a great opportunity to join and busy and expanding team on a full time, temporary to permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient and effective planning and scheduling of transport operations for our service provider client. This is an ideal opportunity for a customer focused, logistically minded person with strong administration skills to further develop their transport knowledge within a growing company.

What you can expect:

• Salary: up to £30,000k, depending on experience
• Salary includes an on-call allowance to cover weekends and evenings on a rotational basis
• 4 days per week 7:00am - 5pm, 1 day 7:00am – 18:00pm and a requirement to work one weekend in every three
• 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
• 5% company pension contribution

What you will be doing:

• Answering calls, providing the communication link between customers and drivers
• Supervising and managing driver workloads
• Forward plan as and when orders are taken
• Monitoring driver performance
• Attend daily scheduling meetings for Operations
• Scheduling works and any emergencies that come in, liaise the drivers on any changes updating across CRM systems
• Regularly review driver routes and update to maximise efficiency
• Manage driver’s daily activities in line with the working time directive and driving hours

What we are looking for:

• Route planning experience is desirable although a strong administrator with good geographical knowledge of UK will be considered
• Customer focused experience
• Previous experience within a fast-paced transport planning position would be preferred
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Competent decision-making skills
