Food Manufacturing Line/Pack Lead

Job Summary 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pack Lead to join our busy fresh produce manufacturing site at Florette in Lichfield. Our pack leads manage and lead small teams of approximately 7-8 production staff, producing a niche food line within our food manufacturing site. You'll ensure that all the products that leave your line meet with our highest standards of quality. You'll have good leadership skills, and will be able to confidently lead, support and motivate the team around you to meet production targets set. 

Previous experience of working on production lines within a food manufacturing environment is essential for these roles ideally within fmcg/chilled/fresh produce. You will have a thorough understanding of H&S and Food Safety regulations and high attention to detail, along with a demonstrable understanding of GMP.

Working hours:     4 on 4 off. 

                               12 hour Shifts either 07.30-19.30 or 09.00-21.00 hrs

Florette is one of three UK food manufacturing factories owned by the French co-operative group, Agrial. Agrial has operations across 18 regions, with 280 farming outlets and 5 different divisions, which comprise Beverage, Dairy, Meat, Fresh Produce & Agricultural operations; it’s not just about lettuce! As well as the 3 factories we also have a farming operation – Agrial Fresh Farms. All UK sites operate under the name of Agrial Fresh Produce Limited and fall under Agrial's vegetable division.

Under the Florette brand, our site processes and distributes pre-packed, ready to eat fresh salad bags to well-known retailers in the UK. Main Responsibilities   

  • Ensuring compliance at all times with H&S regulations and policies
  • Managing the activity and performance of a small team to achieve daily production targets and KPI's
  • Ensuring products manufactured meet / exceed our quality standards.
  • Allergen Control / GMP
  • Completing checks to ensure accuracy of labels and weights of finished products, and ensuring seals on finished articles are satisfactory
  • Supporting and training members of your team
  • Completing traceability and production paperwork 

Skills and Experience Required 

  • Previous experience of working in a busy food manufacturing environment - ideally within fmcg/chilled/fresh produce. 
  • A good understanding of written and spoken English.
  • An understanding of H&S and Food Safety regulations
  • High attention to detail 
  • Excellent time management and leadership skills
