SHEQ Advisor
Role
As the SHEQ Advisor you will assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of the company health, safety, quality, and environmental policy; utilising site audits, on-site coaching and formal training sessions as key techniques in achieving this aim.
The SHEQ Advisor will carry out an ongoing programme of site audits throughout the UK, ensuring all supervisors are regularly audited and that the full range of works are included within the audit programme
Responsibilities – but not limited to:
• Work with site management to ensure all training needs for the anticipated workload are met
• Carry out Safety Induction Training on all new starters
• Carry out Basic Competence Training on new starters, supported by ongoing refresher sessions:
• Manual handling awareness and safe lifting techniques
• Banksman training
• Safe excavation and cable avoidance techniques
• Environmental awareness
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ legislation, industry, and Carnell standards
• Report accurately and precisely on all SHEQ matters
• To carry out ‘ad-hoc’ training sessions, as required by the business
• To be a SHEQ support service to site crews
• To assist the SHEQ Manager as and when required
Qualifications / Experience
• Experience in Civil Engineering (Highways Industry)
• NEBOSH General or Construction certificate
• CSCS Card
• Excellent communication skills
• Full clean driving licence
• Company vehicle, fuel card and PPE are all provided
• A full SHEQ site induction will be carried out upon start
• Please note pre-employment D&A testing will be required due to the nature of the industry.
