The Role:

They are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join this dynamic team, a candidate who will operate as the lead Structural Engineer within the business. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading structural projects, providing technical expertise and mentoring junior engineers as they build a team around them. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional looking to contribute to diverse projects and advance their career within a supportive and forward-thinking practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the structural engineering design and analysis for a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Oversee and manage project delivery from concept through to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and practical structural solutions.
  • Prepare and review detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and bids.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in managing and delivering complex structural projects.
  • Strong proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Chartered status with ICE, IStructE, or equivalent professional body.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
