SEN Teaching Assistant - Psychology Graduates

Q - Are you a psychology graduate looking to continue your training?

Then this is the role for you! An 'Outstanding' Ofsted school in Merton is looking for someone to join their team as a SEN Teaching Assistant. This school is renowned for its new-wave approach - valuing the input of psychologists, therapists, and pastoral support officers as much as a teacher. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will bridge the gap between the support a child receives from their educational psychologist, speech and language therapist or behavioural therapist and the child's academia.

The head teacher is very keen to ensure children are developed holistically, they have done this by highlighting the importance of academic development as well as physical and mental development. Consequently, the children at this school have become high-achieving, well behaved students as they follow what they are genuinely interested in.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be crucial in underpinning the learning received by students who have special educational needs. You will work closely in 1:1 or small group sessions with students who need that extra push to fully reach their potential. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain first hand experience working with physical and mental adversities, providing you with a firm stepping stone into the world of educational psychology.
