About the Role

As a Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Finance and Operations in managing our day to day financial activities. This position is integral to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate production of all sales invoices
  • Monthly reconciliation of debtor’s ledger and effective credit control
  • Collaborate with the Finance Officer on various financial tasks
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and oversee subsidiary VAT processes
  • Ensure accurate and prompt accounting software entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage the general ledger and fixed assets register
  • Oversee project finances and support project managers with budgets and financial reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and statutory accounts

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-orientated professional who can manage a busy workload and contribute to the strategic financial planning of the Institute. You will have:

  • At least 3 years of accounting experience
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant
  • Strong technical accounting skills and understanding of key financial principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Experience with web-based accounting systems and Sage payroll software
  • Knowledge of SORP/Companies House accounting regulations and payroll preparation
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying financial information to non-financial audiences
