Salary: £39,500 to 43,500 per annum, plus overtime x1.5, Life Assurance, 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), Pension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week
Location: Commutable of Farnborough, Aldershot, Guildford, Alton, Camberley, Wokingham, Bracknell and surrounding areas

Responsibilities

The role is a 'hands on' position that covers approx; 70% hands on and carrying out the work and 30% management of staff including 5 deburring and machinists.

Lead a team of operators including allocating daily/weekly tasks to the team.
Assisting operators with set up of jobs on machines, but ultimately training and mentoring operators to be self-sufficient.
Assess skills gaps among staff and implement training.
Carrying out induction training with new starters.
Carrying out staff appraisals, supervisions and return to work meetings.
Ensuring that the team remain in date with mandatory training.
Ensuring ERP system 100% accuracy throughout.
Carrying out daily spot checks to ensure quality levels are maintained.
Ensuring acceptable levels of overall equipment effectiveness are achieved.
Organising preventative maintenance and cleaning of machines according to manufacturer’s guidelines with the Maintenance Team.
Organising servicing and repairs of machines inc daily TPM’s.
Liaison with the Operations Director regarding planning of jobs.
Scheduling workload, progress tracking, budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
Ensure the team maintains a high level of health and safety standards.
Adhere to the company’s health and safety requirements and complete training as required.
Provide department resources to keep ahead of internal delivery dates.
Liaise with other Unit Managers to improve work flow.

Requirements

Experience of deburring / lapping - this can be as part of their role and not working solely in lapping and deburring - you just must have some experience of it
Ideally you will have leadership or management experience of a team, or feel you're ready to take that next step up and into management
Hungry, passion and drive to help shape the future of this department and make it your own
Worked in a similiar environment - machining, engineering or manufacturing
