Eleven are working alongside a climate-tech spin-out based in Oxfordshire, who are developing cutting edge technology to convert carbon dioxide and hydrogen into hydrocarbons, to take into the sustainable aviation fuel market.

Due to the recent closure of a significant round of funding, they are looking to expand their engineering team and recruit a Graduate Chemical Engineer, to support the scale-up the technology with demo plants.
 

Position description.

We are looking for Process Engineers who have recently completed or about to finish their university course in Chemical Engineering, and wish to make a difference to the world. The role will be varied and challenging. You will collaborate closely with a team of skilled Engineers to identify opportunities for improvement.

You will have opportunities to design, scale-up and operate state-of-the-art catalytic processes to convert CO2 into long chain hydrocarbons such as aviation fuel. You will be engaged in both lab-based and industry-based works and gain a complete understanding of the novel product operation and workflow with hands-on experience.



Key responsibilities and accountabilities.

  • Part of a team of Engineers to design, build and operate of OXCCU demo plants.
  • Conduct research studies.
  • Troubleshoot our various procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation in the Engineering team to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Making sure engineering delivery business procedures and best practices are being used.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across engineering and capital projects.

Qualifications and experience.

To be successful you will ideally have:

  • Have a degree (or working towards one) in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
  • Relevant research project in University is preferred.
  • Relevant design project in University is preferred.
  • Chemical Engineering work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to use simulation software and some programming skills.
  • Student/Associate member of IChemE would be preferable.
  • An understanding of synthetic fuels, syngas or the chemical/petrochemical processes is preferred.
  • Experience of health and safety in the lab and/or plant.
  • Self-motivated and ready to work on a commercial endeavour
  • A passion to deal with the climate challenges we all are facing now.
  • Humble, able to take and give direction and feedback and to work cohesively within a diverse, fast-paced, innovative team and deal with uncertainty.
  • Ability to listen and learn from wider team.
  • Ability to come into the office a minimum of 4 times per week and to travel.
  • Rights to work in UK.
