Interim Specifications Technologist

Merseyside (based on site)

Salary £275 - £300 a day (8-hour day, Monday to Friday)

Duration: circa 3 months – Immediate start

A well-established Food Manufacturing business with a reputation for innovation are seeking to appoint an Interim Specifications Technologist to join a busy team within the Technical function.

Duties of this role will include:

• The generation and management of product specifications.
• Contact with customers to gain approval and specification updates.
• The maintenance of specifications to ensure they remain accurate and up-to-date, encompassing all specifications for raw materials and packaging used on site.
• Focus on customer specifications, and to a lesser degree supplier specifications.
• Update retailer technical portals with specification information.
• The creation and management of product labels ensuring legal standards.
• Involvement in the administration of the Supplier Approval Programme.
• The management and coordination of the Artwork approval system.
• Use knowledge of food safety legislation to ensure the business adheres to all regulations.
• Mitigate risks, ensure data is accurate around ingredients, traceability and packaging.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure information relating to traceability and accreditations is accurate (Kosher, Halal, Organic, RSPO).
• Liaise with customers and support them with technical information on Specification matters.
• Support the Technical Manager with Audits on occasion.
