Role: Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 (DOE)

TGS' client is a dynamic and innovative firm that has been specialising in the design and construction of mission critical buildings for over a decade. Their portfolio includes several high profile data centres, pharmaceutical facilities and hospital buildings across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth , they are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Wolverhampton.

As the Electrical Design Engineer you'll be taking responsibility for the development and delivery of electrical designs, ensuring safe and compliant installations on site, for a range of projects, including data centres, warehouses, smart buildings and pharma.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborating on designs in alignment with fire certifications, disability access certifications, and planning permission reports.
  • Participating in Design team meetings.
  • Conducting surveys of existing installations on-site.
  • Generating stage reports and presentations.
  • Creating detailed electrical schematics for construction purposes.
  • Sourcing and procuring electrical components for designs.
  • Developing test plans and comprehensive documentation packs for electrical designs.
  • Engaging with customers and suppliers to meet project delivery deadlines.
  • Producing exhaustive design briefs, the foundation of designs, and survey reports.
  • Executing all tasks with a high level of professionalism.

What you'll need for the role:

  • Prior, pertinent experience in the Electrical Engineering domain.
  • Qualifications in Engineering or a related field.
  • In-depth familiarity with CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS, and EN Irish and UK standards.
  • Proficiency in Amtech is essential.
  • Adaptability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior communication abilities.
