Data Engineer - Senior/Lead

Xpertise is looking for a Senior and a Lead Data Engineer for a growing data team at the early stages of a data and digital transformation journey. We're looking for engineers who like being hands-on, having lots of challenges to solve, and also have a keen interest in how this links to the wider business' commercial activities.
Key details:
Salary: £(phone number removed) + bonus
Location: Birmingham + very flexible hybrid working model (remote)
Future outlook: Firstly, the Lead Data Engineer will be the key technical leader for all data engineering activities. This could quickly move into more of a Head of Data Engineering position, but you could also remain hands-on. Similarly, the Senior Data Engineer could move vertically and horizontally across the business. In a year's time, you could even move into Data Science/AI/ML, architecture, or management. The choice will be yours!
Key tech stack/skills desired / what you will learn:
- AWS
- Building data warehouses with either Redshift or Snowflake
- Informatica
- Python
- SQL
- ETL development
- Azure DevOps for pipeline management and releases
- Terraform (IaC)
- Mentoring juniors
Role overview: In short, the team is now starting to invest in modern AWS and DevOps technologies to transform its data landscape. In the future, expect to work closely with a new data science and AI team and have a broad set of responsibilities.
