Working closely with the Engineering Manager you will need to be a strong communicator and be organised to lead the team of around 15 Automation engineers and technical operators.
Executing the schedule of planned maintenance ensuring that high standards are upheld to maintain the reliability and stability of the MHE, and breakdowns are prioritised to limit down time.
This is a position that offers variation supporting the senior team and leading the engineering team from the front providing technical and hands on support.

Key Responsibilities for an Engineer Shift Manager
- Attend handover meetings with the wider senior engineering team.
- Planning and organising of the Engineering Team delegating the schedule of planned maintenance.
- Fault finding and maintenance of automated MHE including conveyors, shuttles, totes and robotics.
- Respond to breakdowns.
- Mentoring and leading the team.
- Strong Attention to detail.
- Management of system and equipment incidents.
- Manage spare parts and Monitoring inventory and usage.
- Strong understanding of control systems including WMS, SCADA.
- Ensure the team are working within the H&S guidelines at all times.
- Apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering NVQ Level 3
- Experience with leadership within Automation
- Experience with Automated MHE.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic knowledge
- Confidently work at height
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience with engineering stores and CMMS systems
- Good understanding of Microsoft office
- HNC/HND would also be desirable.
- Salary up to £60,000 DOE
- 4 on 4 off
