Straight Day Shifts, 8-4.30 Monday to Thursday, 8 – 2 on Fridays

 I am currently working with an aerospace and automotive component manufacturer, based in Rugby, who are now looking to recruit for a Manufacturing Engineer to provide engineering support to their current operations.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for:

• Planning and implementing new products and changes to the manufacturing processes.
• Manage suppliers of tooling ensuring timescales and costs are met.
• Support the quality department.
• Complete standard operating instructions.
• Nesting to ensure there is minimal waste of materials.
• Programming of the 5 axis lasers and waterjet cutters.
• Producing Bills of Materials and Methods of Manufacture.

Preferred Skills and Experience for the Manufacturing Engineer:

• Laser cutting software, ie TruTops / TruCell- Software
• A good knowledge/experience gained within a sheet metal / laser cutting environment.including Trumpf flatbed and 5 Axis lasers and knowledge of Waterjet cutting machines
• Computer literate with MS Office suite, and CAD packages, ERP and MRP systems
• Creating a Bill of Materials and Methods of Manufacture, and Creating job packs
• Degree qualified (or HND) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or Significant experience in a relevant role.

• Experience of working within the Aerospace or Automotive manufacturing industries
• Strong communication and good organisation skills, together with problem-solving skills.
• Hands on approach and attention to detail
• Conscientious and methodical approach to work
• Results oriented and resilient character.
• Initiative to work on their own as well as working within a team.
• A desire for continuous improvement
• Knowledge of production and manufacturing processes, and defining, implementing and refining production processes.
