Our client are seeking a dedicated Trainer and Assessor to join their team and deliver industry specific training that is both inspirational and encourages positive feedback and repeat business.

About the Role

As a Trainer and Assessor, your primary responsibility will be to provide Fibre-based training accreditations at various training centers, with potential travel to other company sites and external stakeholder locations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Fibre-based training at designated training centers, with occasional travel to other sites as needed.
  • Handle all training certification and materials promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with the training administration team through daily and weekly meetings to discuss training bookings, numbers, and ensure optimal use of the training center.
  • Ensure all training delivered is current and up-to-date.
  • Support, train, and guide learners, helping them develop both personally and professionally, ensuring they successfully complete their qualifications.
  • Guide learners in obtaining the necessary evidence for their Competency-Based Qualifications.
  • Assess learners and provide feedback, demonstrating a thorough understanding of competence requirements, using audio and video technology.
  • Share best practices with peer Assessors, Internal Quality Advisors, and Delivery Teams.
  • Ensure training centers are equipped with the necessary equipment.
  • Monitor potential training expiries, engage with internal teams to distribute alerts, and prepare training dates for delegates.
  • Provide feedback to the Training Manager and Head of Training.
  • Be open and willing to travel, as training will occur both at training centers and customer sites.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Previous experience in a similar Fibre role within an Alt/Net or Open Reach environment.
  • Experience working on the Alt/NET Network with Fibre-Based Training.
  • Knowledge and experience with Street works, with relevant accreditations being advantageous.
  • Experience in surveying and supervising Fibre-based programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Preferably hold a teaching or assessing qualification such as PTTLS, CAVA, IQA, or similar.
  • Experience in training development, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Experience in a fast-paced office role with the ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
  • Strong time management skills and a positive, upbeat attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality work.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a diverse population at all levels within the organization and external parties.
