We’re excited to welcome an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to our Leeds team at FHP.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll:

  • Perform detailed design calculations and sketches to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineers and Engineering Technicians on design and drawing tasks.
  • Work alongside an Electrical Associate on project design, specifications, and contract administration.
  • Grow your design, construction, and practical knowledge to advance to Senior Engineer status.
  • Balance design work, office-based project administration, and site visits.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer:

  • Execute detailed Electrical Building Services Design Engineering for new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Assist senior staff in feasibility studies and design stages.
  • Attend design team meetings.
  • Inspect and report on electrical building services systems.
  • Use approved and recognised software for calculations.
  • Produce and manage design work, including surveys, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure designs meet legislative and health and safety standards.
  • Create drawings for BIM/CAD and specify products, equipment, and standards for electrical services.

What We’re Looking For

You should have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.  HND/HNC will be considered for the right candidate.
  • Proficiency in Amtech / Relux
  • Understanding of Building Regulations Part L compliance
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience aligned with IET or CIBSE requirements for an Incorporated Engineer.

You should also have skills in designing electrical systems from concept to detailed design, including:

  • Low voltage electrical distribution (BS7671)
  • Internal, external, and emergency lighting (CIBSE Lighting guides)
  • Small and fixed power supplies
  • Fire alarm and detection systems
  • ICT structured cabling
  • Cable containment
