Are you an experienced Test Engineer seeking a new opportunity to grow your career? ASL Technical are now working with a leading Automotive Manufacturer as they look to expand their New Vehicle Electronic & Electrical Reliability team.

Main Purpose of Automotive Test Engineer – Electronic & Electrical Reliability  

  • To support the Test team with management of HILS system relating to various Body Electronics systems and powertrain systems.
  • Lead concern identification to root cause investigation.
  • Support design departments to ensure the quality of component testing and resolving HILS issues models and testing.

Responsibilities of Automotive Test Engineer – Electronic & Electrical Reliability 

  • Creation of test plans to meet with project and design milestones
  • Creation of testing procedures, confirmation of vehicle spec and test parts required for test, includes arrangement of vehicle transportation when required
  • Overall vehicle test technical coordination role where required (project leader).
  • Formal reporting of test results to design sections and to upper management

Experience / Knowledge for the Automotive Test Engineer – Electronic & Electrical Reliability 

  • Be degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Have working knowledge of Automotive architecture – Ideally Japanese Manufacturers.
  • Have experience risk assessment of electrical design and generation of test plans
  • Understand network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections
  • Be conversant with digital oscilloscopes, network and RF measurement equipment.
  • Have relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, completing a minimum of two vehicle developments, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Suitable candidates must hold a valid UK drivers license.

Successful candidates can expect to receive the following in addition to the advertised rate:
