Staff Nurse (IPU)  

Location: Watford, Peace Hospice (WD17 3PH) 

Salary: £28,975 - £35,273 (pro rate for part time) 

Full Time, Permanent  

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part time hours will be considered) 

Closing Date: 19th July 2024 at 12 noon 

We’re looking for a Staff Nurse (IPU) to deliver a high quality Specialist Palliative and end of Life nursing care as part of the in-patient unit and multidisciplinary team. 

We’re wanting to hear from those who can lead on and coordinate the assessment, planning and evaluation of individualised patient centered care. Ensuring a holistic approach that is sensitive and responsive to the patients ever changing needs.  

You'll maintain a respectful non-judgmental and caring attitude ensuring the Rennie Grove Peace Hospice vision and philosophy of care is integral to the care delivered and undertaken. You’ll also act as a Rennie Grove Peace ambassador within the community. 

Further to this you’ll coordinate the smooth running of your shift, ensuring it is well organised and staff and patients are safe.  

What you’ll bring  

As well as being a registered general nurse, with experience in a multi professional team, we’re looking for you to have: 

• A willingness to complete Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care educational programme  

• Experience of shift/caseload management  

• Experience of working with volunteers  

• Ability to deal with complex and difficult emotional situations  

• Good organisation and negotiation skills  

• Ability to motivate yourself / others and work autonomously and as part of a team  

• Willingness to take on extended nursing role  

The following would be advantageous but are not essential: 

• Experience of working within palliative care/long term conditions or an oncology setting  

• Experience of participating in a clinical development audit
