We are recruiting for a food manufacturer who is looking to appoint a Production Supervisor for their site in Angus.  You will be a key member of the production management team ensuring that intake, storage and operations are carried out effectively on site.

Working pattern:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 8am – 5pm
  • On Call Rota

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Production Manager to meet customer expectations
  • Ensure robust quality checks are carried out on malt dispatched from site and that appropriate records are maintained
  • Support Production Manager to ensure that customer quality and service requirements are achieved
  • Support site compliance with safety, health, and environmental legislation to ensure issues are followed up and closed out and records are maintained.
  • Support external and internal standards for food safety and product quality and ensure issues are followed up and closed out records are maintained
  • Maintain AX, computer and manual production records
  • Carry out customer blends and communication in the absence of the Production Manager
  • Recruit and supervise temporary labour for the harvest period
  • Prepare and be involved with customer site visits, audits, and inspection of facilities as necessary
  • Maintain and organise PPE
  • Maintain risk assessments, plant procedures and COSHH assessments
  • Coordinate training activities for all plant production employees 
  • Ensure the daily duties of direct reports are planned and organised and that operating instructions and responsibilities are clear to enable them to carry out their tasks effectively and safely
  • Ensure the time clock accurately reflects working patterns and all time off is recorded correctly each week. Prepare overtime reports for payroll each month.
  • Provide training as required for direct reports and ensure that full cover can be provided during periods of holiday and sickness absence
  • Carry out one to one meetings with direct reports at the appropriate times each year (at least every 6 months) using the GPS Cornerstone system.
