You will actively contribute to the leadership and management of the Council, providing strategic Health and Safety advice, playing a crucial role in shaping and promoting health and safety practices across a vibrant city.

The Head of Health and Safety will be responsible for:

• Developing the Corporate Health and Safety Management system
• Leading a team of eight Health and Safety professionals
• Engaging and establishing strong working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Ensuring there are up to date policies and procedures ,covering the full range of Council services across the city
• Providing competent, solutions orientated health and safety advice, support and guidance across the organisation

The Head of Health and Safety will have:

• A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level health and safety qualification
• Chartered membership with IOSH
• The confidence and competence to be the most senior H&S professional in the organisation
• Extensive experience as a Health and Safety leader within large complex environments
• The ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of Health and Safety professionals
