Pension Administrator - Projects

We have a great opportunity for a Pension Administrator to work in our Projects team. This role is based in our Birmingham office (hybrid working).

The projects team provides support to the on-going administration teams by carrying out administration project work. 

Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all new implementation project tasks are completed as per the Project Plan
  • Attend regular Project meetings and feedback on progress of implementation or other project work
  • Assist with more complex aspects of new client implementations including the running and checking of parallel payrolls
  • Build a calculation matrix for testing system calculations against expected output
  • Carry out and check more complex data cleansing / rectification exercises 
  • Prepare and check manual and computer generated benefit calculations and related correspondence
  • Maintain in-house pension administration database, prepare computer generated benefit calculations and related correspondence
  • Prepare and check annual benefit, SMPI statements and administration reports 
  • Calculate and apply pension increases, including preparing correspondence to members and trustees 
  • Carry out and check existence checks, including liaising with tracing agencies, analysing trace results, issuing correspondence and monitoring replies

Experience/Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C and above are essential.  Certificate in Pension Calculations (CPC) or progress with other relevant PMI qualifications would be an advantage. 
  • Relevant Financial Services experience or a background in DC or DB pension administration would be a requirement. 
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Office programmes, in particular Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of PRINCE 2 project methodologies.
