Job Description

Connex Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team and lead a class of students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who is passionate, understanding and patient about making a difference in the lives of children with significant needs.

You will be responsible for developing engaging lesson plans and activities for the students. Every student will have specific learning needs; therefore it is vital you are confident in your ability to deliver lessons while adapting where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualized lessons tailored to the needs of students with PMLD.
  • Develop and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and support staff.
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods and strategies as needed.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children with PMLD and Autism Spectrum Condition.
  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering the educational and personal development of students with significant needs.
