Baird and Co Recruitment, a specialist Social Housing recruitment firm, are currently seeking a Supported Housing Manager to oversee a temporary accommodation service in South-East London.

This will be a permanent post.

Starting asap, working a flexible 37.5 hours per week, this would be an all-encompassing Supported Housing Manager role, playing a pivotal role in managing approximately 70 homes, with 62 on one site. Based in Orpington, you will lead a small team of approximately four staff members, ensuring a proactive, responsive and truly exceptional service is delivered to residents.

You will manage all aspects of our dedicated Temporary Accommodation scheme in Orpington, alongside any other TA, ensuring all contractual terms and KPIs are met, while maintaining strong relationships with the Council and other key stakeholders. You will oversee the day to day management of the site including: tenancy management, resident support and engagement, voids and allocations, repairs & maintenance and H&S, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and legislation.  

Previous experience in a Supported Housing Manager position or similar post would be required.

The Supported Housing Manager will be expected to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the scheme, ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive environment for all residents
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Ensure that anti-social behaviour affecting residents is resolved with a focus on changing behaviours and managing expectations
  • Assist residents who may have complex and challenging housing support needs, ensuring that residents receive appropriate support and guidance
  • Lead, supervise, and support the team, ensuring they are effectively trained, motivated, and performing to a high standard
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies, including health and safety, data protection, and safeguarding.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the local Council, external agencies and other stakeholders
  • Review services and ways of working identify and introduce improvements and efficiencies. 
  • Encourage and facilitate resident engagement and involvement, ensuring residents are able to shape service delivery

The below is essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge and experience in creating new policies and practices
  • An enhanced DBS or willingness to undertake one
