Principal Maintenance Engineer
 
Are you an experienced and dynamic professional in highway maintenance? We are looking for a Principal Maintenance Engineer to take a lead on a Highway Maintenance programme in Bradford.
 
About the Role:
As the Interim Principal Engineer, you will provide management and leadership to a team of Senior Engineers, Assistant Engineers, Engineers, and Inspectors. Your team will be responsible for designing, procuring, and supervising various schemes and planned works for carriageways, footways, drainage, and more. These projects arise from routine inspections and reports.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage the Highway Maintenance South team.
·Oversee the design, procurement, and supervision of highway maintenance projects.
·Ensure the successful delivery of projects ranging up to £5 million.
·Engage with a range of stakeholders in a political environment.
·Prepare committee reports and attend meetings as necessary.
·Manage project and programme budgets, including setting, forecasting, and monitoring expenditures.
 
Essential Experience:
·Minimum of 5 years in Local Authority highway maintenance.
·Proven leadership and management skills, including staff support and recruitment.
·Experience working in a political environment with public and private sector stakeholders.
·Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering highway maintenance projects.
·Financial management expertise, particularly in capital work programmes.
·Full valid UK driving licence.
