Welding Engineer

Major Recruitment are searching for a Welding Engineer for our client based in Sunderland. This vacancy is full-time and permanent for the right candidate.
Duties include:
- Conducting inspections at various production stages
- Ensuring products are manufactured correctly, meeting specifications, and to company standards and procedures
- Supporting making improvements to inspection and auditing processes across the company
- Inspecting welds, materials, dimensions and painting processes
- Working with the team and independently to support the business
Hours of work and pay rate:
- Monday to Friday
- 8 hour day shifts, flexible hours
- £55,000 - £60,000 per year
Successful candidates must have the following:
- Knowledge of quality and welding management systems ISO9001 and ISO3834
- Proficiency in welder monitoring, distortion control and weld sequences/ SOP
- Knowledge of welding processes, MAG essential
- An official qualification for a Welding Engineer - International Welding Engineer (IWE) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) certification
This position also requires travel within the UK and Europe for a few weeks per year.
