Responsibilities:

As a valued SEMH Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Individualised Support: Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs, assisting them in overcoming academic and emotional challenges.

Emotional Well-being: Foster a positive and nurturing environment, promoting emotional well-being and helping students develop coping strategies for challenging situations.

Collaborative Planning: Work closely with teachers to contribute to the development of tailored strategies to support students.

Behaviour Management: Introduce behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviours and creating a supportive learning environment.

Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and teachers to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting students with SEMH needs.

Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of student progress, behaviours and interventions, providing valuable opinions to assist ongoing support efforts.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • Enhanced DBS Check
  • Relevant Qualifications: Possess relevant teaching or education qualifications, or experience within a school setting.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students facing SEMH challenges.

Additional Details:

Hours: This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday 08:30 - 15:30

Salary: Competitive, based on the M1 - M6 teaching scale, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
