Position: Teaching Assistant
Specialism: Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)

About the Role:

Are you a passionate youth worker or sports coach with a desire to make a difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are seeking dynamic and dedicated individuals to join a thriving SEMH school in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your unique skills to support and inspire young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting teachers in the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the needs of SEMH students.
  • Using your experience in youth work or sports coaching to support the social and emotional development of students.
  • Building positive relationships with students to encourage their participation and engagement in school activities.
  • Providing targeted support to students, both individually and in small groups.
  • Helping to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Supporting the management of classroom behavior and implementing effective strategies to meet SEMH needs.
  • Organising and leading extracurricular activities, including sports and recreational programs.

About You:

We are looking for motivated and compassionate individuals who have:

  • Experience working as a youth worker, sports coach, or in a similar role.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges and strategies associated with supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • The ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic school environment.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for education.
