OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE
In the senior role of Head of Operations - UK, the primary focus will be on promoting innovation and developing talent to ensure the highest industry standards by fostering a strong culture of performance.
The responsibilities include managing and overseeing the operational activities of the Service, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Project Engineering, and HSEQ departments. The successful candidate will prioritize quality, efficiency, and cost control to meet customer needs. Maintaining the company’s strong brand for quality will require attention to corporate social responsibility, continuous improvement, supply chain, and planning.
Responsible for:
Service & Business Development department.
Supply Chain department.
Project Engineering department
Warehousing
HSEQ department.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS
This position will be located at our Doncaster site with regular travel within the UK to other locations and occasional international travel. The role will involve close collaboration with the senior management team in the UK, including the Finance, Sales, HR, HSEQ, and Procurement departments.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION – TASK RELATED
General Duties
- Create an operational strategy to align to the organisational objectives.
- Ensure the HSEQ culture is developed, understood, and embedded at all UK locations.
- Manage processes including resources and materials to ensure high quality products and levels of service in all locations.
- Ensure the correct processes and policies are in place across Service, Supply Chain, Project Engineering, Warehousing and HSEQ departments.
- Review and control budget management including costs, investments, and forecasts.
- Support the Supply Chain department in continuously building relationships with third party suppliers working alongside the Procurement team.
People Management
- Create an open communication culture.
- Lead and manage the teams, ensuring key tasks are prioritised. Setting clear daily, weekly, and monthly team goals and objectives
- Carry out people management duties including employee relation situations:
- Performance management
- Absence management including absence review meetings and dealing with long and short term absence
- Dealing with investigations, disciplinary and grievances
- workplace conflict
- Identify training needs and provide coaching.
- Recognise high performance
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING:
Essential:
Degree level or equivalent
Full UK driving license
Desirable:
Project management qualification such as PRINCE2
Process/continuous improvement qualification such as Six Sigma

Essential:
Wealth of experience in a similar role
Strong Supply Chain experience
Manufacturing and Engineering industry experience
Strong people management experience
Strong leadership skills
Good working knowledge of HSEQ processes and procedures
Strategy design, implementation, and monitoring
Process improvement
Project management
Desirable:
Working knowledge of Service operations
