Mechanical Drafter

Stoke on Trent - Can work from home from anywhere

Are you a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Drafter looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions in the wastewater treatment industry? We are seeking a competent professional to join our team, focusing on the development of a technical database for our products offered to Municipal and Industrial wastewater markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Detailed Drawings and Assembly Documentation:

    • Create detailed technical and assembly drawings.
    • Develop 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
    • Produce 2D drawings for various product lines.
  2. Modeling and Design:

    • Transform initial rough designs or sketches into working models.
    • Apply knowledge of machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and physical sciences to complete drawings.
    • Make necessary changes to existing models or drawings.
  3. Technical Data Acquisition:

    • Acquire technical data from catalogs, the internet, and vendors to create accurate models and drawings.
    • Maintain organized relationships of models and drawing files.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with engineers and team members to ensure accurate design specifications.
    • Coordinate with Product and Process Engineering for model and drawing changes.
  5. Travel:

    • Some travel may be required within Europe.

Qualifications:

  1. Education:

    • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting, Design, Technical, Engineering, or related fields.
  2. Skills:

    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Pro-E).
    • Familiarity with blueprints, engineering drawing practices, and GD&T.
    • 3-5 years of experience with 3D design and modeling of pumps, piping, and mechanical equipment for manufacturing.
    • Knowledge of norms and standards like WIMES, ISO, ASME, ASTM.
    • Ability to work in both Metric and United States Customary (USC) measurement systems.
  3. Experience:

    • Essential knowledge and experience in AutoCAD.
    • Familiarity with Inventor Professional, Autodesk Plant 3D, and Autodesk Vault Professional is an asset.
    • Attention to detail and ability to identify process and design improvements.
