Company Overview:

Our client, a leading Chemical Manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their team. This role offers the unique opportunity to work across dual sites in Cambridge and Norwich, contributing to the continuous improvement of health and safety standards within the company.

Role Overview:

As a Health & Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across both sites. The ideal candidate will have a background in Chemical or Scientific industries; however, candidates from Engineering or Manufacturing backgrounds will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company standards.
  • Provide health and safety training and guidance to employees, ensuring a strong safety culture is embedded across the organisation.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting and documentation of health and safety matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including audits, inspections, training, and incidents.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure health and safety considerations are integrated into all operations.
  • Promote continuous improvement in health and safety practices across both sites.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within Chemical, Scientific, Engineering, or Manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across dual sites.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Cambridge and Norwich sites.
